Our "home waters" during the winter and spring range from Tampa Bay south through Longboat Key, Siesta Key, Sarasota, world famous "Snook Alley" in Venice, Charlotte Harbor, and Pine Island Sound. We even fish the Everglades.
During the Winter, our focus is upon baby tarpon, snook, redfish, Spanish mackerel, spotted sea trout, ladyfish, pompano, Jack crevalle--even cobia, King mackerel, tripletail, and bluefish!
Spring and early Summer means huge, leaping tarpon right off the beaches of Casey Key, Manasota Key, and Siesta Key.
Fisheries biologist Dr. Aaron Adams tells us that during the peak of the migration in May and June "several hundred thousand" tarpon will be roaming our nearshore waters.
Late Summer through September takes Capt. John back to the Madison, Yellowstone, and Missouri in Montana, while Capt. Tony floats Michigan's Manistee River and AuSable River in search of huge brown trout and gorgeous brookies.
October brings the wingshooting adventure of a lifetime, too!
If grouse and woodcock get your blood boiling, come visit the incredible hardwood coverts of northern Michigan with Capt. Tony and his spectacular English setter, Heart, and the "new girl"--Tugboat Annie (we just call her Tug).
We averaged between 6 and 9 flushes PER HOUR last fall, and Gun Dog Magazine recently named Kalkaska, Michigan (literally in our back yard) number four on its Top 10 Wingshooting Spots in America. We also offer preserve hunts for chukkar, quail, and pheasant in Michigan, and quail during the winter in Florida.
Or, you can chase thousands of pheasants, Huns and sharptails across the cutover barley buttes of northcentral and eastern Montana with Capt. John on his 16,000-acre lease east of Great Falls.

Florida, especially, provides a great opportunity to introduce your (grand) son or daughter to the joys of angling.
They can use fly or spinning tackle in the gentle waters of the backcountry or Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) where the boat ride is pleasant and the spotted sea trout and ladyfish most always will be co-operative.

While we obviously specialize in fly fishing, in Florida we also carry anglers who prefer to use spinning tackle and artificial lures.
In Michigan, Capt. Tony uses a classic Au Sable Longboat to quietly glide down the Manistee River, which recently was named one of America’s Top 20 trout rivers, as well as the world-famous AuSable River, where Trout Unlimited was founded on July 15, 1959.
Capt. John uses a Mackenzie-style driftboat to navigate the Madison, Yellowstone, Henry’s Fork, and Missouri rivers, as well as guiding inside Yellowstone National Park.
Florida flats and backcountry angling is done by poling classic flats skiffs. Capt. Tony uses a Hewes Redfisher 18, while Capt. John has a Kenner 21.
We have special rates at several motels and lodges in Florida and Michigan, so don’t book accommodations until we’ve had a chance to discuss your travel plans.
We also can provide rods, reels, flies—even waders—if necessary. And in Florida the daily rate includes your fishing license.

Mornings are brisk, but then we're getting a lot of blue sky and temps in the mid-70s.
Trout remain very cooperative on the grass flats, along with ladyfish, and flounder skimming the bottom.
Redfish are moving around a lot, which requires some time and effort to locate the schools, but crab patterns fished slowly on the edges of oyster bars are a good bet.
Fishing for snook at night around lighted docks is peaking now that water temps have dropped. It's really a sight to see 50 or 60 fish congregated around the edge of shadows, feeding on small shrimp and glass minnows!
